Last month Haagen-Dazs came out with two special flavors for their 30th anniversary in Japan. I couldn't resist the pretty, pink, flowery packaging and bought both of them. I've only tried the Rose one so far and it was good. Though I later found out that it doesn't really have that much rose flavor. I got this description from General Mill's (I guess they make Haagen-Dazs?) blog:
"The Rose mini-cup contains strawberry ice cream with an aromatic Damask rose extract and plum sauce with the mild fragrance of Turkish rose extract. It's covered with a rose sauce."

I guess it did taste mostly fruity. I'm not very good at picking out different flavors though so I'm not the best to describe it.
The Pringles were Sour Cream and Butter flavored. They were really good but I still like Sour Cream and Onion better.
I got a delicious chicken bowl from Max Valu for lunch a couple of times. Well, it was mostly delicious. I picked out a few pieces of fatty chicken, but the flavor was really good. The first time I ate it, it reminded me of bourbon chicken at "Chinese" restaurants in mall food courts, though I didn't really think that the second time I had it.
I like the little circle on the back of the package that says, "Hi Cheese!"
Jonathan and I discovered a small stand in Hamamatsu station called Bagel and Bagel and they sell... bagels! Surprise! Anways... the white chocolate cranberry one was sooooooo good!
Now whenever Jonthan and I go to Super Drug Store he tries a random candy that we just blindly grab off the shelf. The first time I grabbed these which were terrible.
Recently McDonald's had an American Vintage thing going on with different sandwiches for different decades. The theme was 70s when I took these pictures.
For the 80's they had a barbeque sandwich. It was really good. I ended up getting it twice!
I made rice and layered spaghetti sauce, eggplant, cheese, and panko breadcrumbs on top and put it in the toaster oven a bit to crisp up the top. It was really good! I actually made this again this week and added some onions, a bit of garlic, and some red pepper flakes and it was even better.
Valentine's Day in Japan is different from the US. In Japan, only women give gifts to men and they often make chocolates. I think American Valentine's Day is better, but I had fun with all the super cute chocolate-making materials at Daiso! I especially loved the chocolate mold where you use a stick of Pocky with it.
Though I broke a couple of Pocky sticks when removing them from the molds. :(
I also made some peanut butter cups for Jonathan. I prefer Reese's (I finally found some at Seiyu last week!) but Jonthan likes these better. I layered the chocolate a bit thin so they broke a bit.
At Ito Yokado we saw some chocolate shaped like tools. Jonathan thought they were really cool and I was going to buy the pliers for him for Valentine's Day, but by the time I went back they were sold out.
My best friend sent me some My Little Pony Valentine's! Aren't they so cute?
I put them all up on my door. Do you see all the ice cream lid magnets? I got that idea from the students at one of my schools. They had the blackboard in the back of their classroom decorated with a bunch of them.
I didn't get that Hello Kitty and Colonel Sanders box, but it was tempting! Well, not too tempting really because I had just eaten a big bowl of ramen. :)
Jonathan and I went to the mall near my new apartment one day. We ate at a delicious Indian restaurant, but I was amused by the sign outside of another restaurant.
Safety... YUM!
I took that picture from the parking garage of the mall. It was a really pretty sunset which is a bit rare here. It wasn't as pretty anymore when I was able to take a picture, but it was still nice.
And now for the best part of this post... LIGHTSABER CHOPSTICKS. I bought some last time I was in Japan and I always thought that they should make some that actually light up. Well, now they do! Jonathan ordered two pairs online: red (Darth Vader) and blue (Luke Skywalker). We couldn't decide who would take which color so then Jonathan had the idea that we would just each take one red and one blue. Perfect! It's like a battle every time I use them!
