We started off our second day in Sapporo with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Yummy!
Then we walked toward the festival. There was a lot of snow piled up on the sidewalks around our hotel. But when we got to more major roads in the Susukino district there wasn't any snow on the sidewalks because they are heated from underneath.
At that time the road was open to traffic so we couldn't get too close the ice sculptures, but we still had a good view of them from the sidewalk.
The one with fish in it was creepy.
I'm not sure why Santa and a couple of his elves were climbing that building.
Then we soon arrived in Odori Park.
Even though I had just eaten breakfast, all the food stalls were looking more appealing than the night before because it wasn't as cold out. I didn't mind taking my hands out of my pockets to hold food. So I decided to get a chocolate banana.
It took me a while to decide, but I finally chose one with a Koala's March cookie and a cantaloupe Jelly Belly jelly bean.
Haha, that fox costume is cute and looks warm and cozy.
Ummm? Please have sweet alcoholic?
Jonathan got a potato korokke with the festival's cute snowman mascot on it.
There was a spot where you could have your picture taken with those stuffed animals. If the line hadn't been so long and it hadn't cost as much I would have wanted a picture like this with Jonathan. :)
There was a dance performance at the Philippine Manila Cathedral sculpture.
Their dresses were so pretty!
Barriers with animals and characters always amuse me a lot.
Then we stopped in a 7-Eleven to get some hand warmers.
I thought the Frozen packaging was neat on these cosmetic products.
That strawberry tea was delicious. :) While Jonathan was opening his hand warmers, I tried to take a picture of a Sailor Moon poster in the store but my camera wouldn't focus. I tried focusing on something else and it still didn't focus.
And that blurry picture was the last picture my camera ever took. :( My camera beeped at me and said "lens error." The lens is stuck and won't go back into the camera. I've tried a few things to fix it but nothing has worked. Sayonara, my Canon G11. :(
Luckily Jonathan also had his camera with him so we were still able to take pictures.
I was amused by Anpanman with a bite taken out of his head, lol.
Then we went to Nakajima Park, which will be in my next post.
