I haven't written in a really long time because Lauren came here to Japan! So I have spent the past 3 weeks traveling around with her. I'm going to split everything up into a bunch of posts. So here is the first of many posts about my summer vacation! :)
Lauren arrived on August 10th. I headed out early in the morning to meet her at the airport. I got on the bus at 6:30. It was early, but it was nice because it was really pretty out. The mountains were super misty and I saw a rainbow! :)
I even finally got a good picture of the ocean from the bus. They usually turn out blurry, but this one turned out pretty well. I like how it's hard to tell the difference between the ocean and the sky.
I arrived at the airport earlier than I needed to, so I walked around for a couple hours looking at all the gift shops. I saw several interesting Kit Kat flavors including Soy Sauce Kit Kats and Soybean Flour Kit Kats. I didn't buy either one though because they only came in the big 9 dollar boxes.
Finally Lauren arrived. Here is a picture from the airport!

When the train stopped at one point Lauren took a picture. I also took a picture in this same place on my first day in Japan. You can see a big difference!
We didn't do too much that day. We just headed for the hotel and then ate dinner. Here we are in the area of Ikebukuro where our hotel was.
We ate at KFC for dinner, haha. Actually, now I can't remember if I ate there or not. Anyways... here is a picture from inside KFC. I think it's funny how they call these Kentucky Sweets.
